Siri, play The Last Goodbye by ODESZA because it's time to finish off this year's shoutouts with our last senior, who also played this as the final song at her wedding (aka the most epic party of the year), Dr. Tamana Ghani!

"Where are you headed next year?
Columbia University Medical Center

What is your favorite memory from residency?
There are so many great memories, how do I pick one? We've had so much fun together as a class and with our other coresident friends, from TNFs to park hangz to class dinners to ski trip to PGY3 retreat....

What will you miss the most about Sinai/residency?
Our sense of community and the tight bond between our coresidents. I made life long friendships in residency that will last forever.

Any words of wisdom/pearls for the youngins you're leaving behind?
Take care of yourself during residency and find the things that make you happy. Whether that's hanging with friends, going to the gym, etc, just make sure you find some happiness and a break from work! And take advantage of the fact that you are learning under someone else's license, so try to see as many patients as you can during residency and go for those procedures while you have supervision."

Dr. Ghani is the embodiment of everything EM. Always cool, calm, collected, she works insanely hard, clearing the board with ease at speeds unknown to mankind, and she plays even harder! Whether she's on shift or out at the clerb, Dr. Ghani has an incredible ability to make anyone and everyone laugh and feel loved by gassing them up, always. Her words of wisdom are to take care of yourself and to find the things that make you happy, and we can't thank her enough for also taking care of us, her coresidents, and always giving us something to be happy about. Words can't express how much we will miss her, but lucky for us, she'll be staying in NYC, which means TNFs with Tamana will live on forever!

New York's hottest club is Columbia University. They've got everything, Dr. Ben Hong, Dr. Andres Arredondo, and our final 2 PGY4 shoutouts, starting with Dr. Priya Misir!

You walk on to shift with 30 TBS and 40 still in the waiting room and think this is going to be impossible, but there is no board that Dr. Misir can't handle. She'll walk on and crush 10 in a row effortlessly, all while having enough time to keep her junior UTD on the latest high-yield medicine AND the latest residency gossip. Her efficiency in getting patients to tell her key information and in coaxing out secrets from coresidents, nursing, attendings, admin, leadership, etc, is something to strive towards. We've loved having her for the past 4 years and aren't entirely sure what we'll do without her, but we hope Columbia knows just how lucky they are to have her!

We could never say goodbye to this class without shouting out the one and only, Dr. Ranjita Raghavan!

You've probably heard her on EMRA*Cast or maybe even seen her impressively inhale a burrito the size of her torso while walking the streets of Brooklyn after a night out. Whether she's spinning herself in the air as an expert aerialist or spinning wooden staffs on literal fire in Hawaii, Dr. Raghavan has always danced to the beat of her own drum. She saw what residency and EM look like for most people and said, definitely not exciting or fun enough, and decided to pave her own path, helping make new electives focused on global health and podcast production. We are so sad she's leaving us for her joint MedEd/Global Health fellowship at UCSF where she'll be helping educate physicians in Kenya interested in EM, but we hope she's enrolled in a great travel rewards program so she can come back to visit us all the time!

Our next senior shoutout goes to Dr. Jason Huo!

For most people, just getting through med school and residency is more than enough of a challenge. Evidently, Dr. Huo is not most people! After majoring in bioengineering from Harvard, he decided, mmm not intellectuallly stimulating enough, and decided to get his dual MD/MBA. At some point during that time, he also mastered programming/coding, hence our residency's beautifully redesigned website! This info was gathered purely through word-of-mouth (and also a quick Google search) bc he's also one of the most humble, low-key, down-to-earth guys. You almost want to hate him for being so damn good at everything, but GUESS WHAT? Turns out, he's super funny, nice, and a just a pure delight to be around, too. He certainly doesn't need any, but we still wish him the best of luck at Swedish Hospital in Seattle and hope he hires us at whatever hospital he becomes CEO of in the future!

What will you miss the most about Sinai/residency?
The staff at the different sites that made working in an intense environment feel so much more pleasurable.

Any words of wisdom/pearls for the youngins you're leaving behind?
The energy, kindness, and humanity you put into your work will be reciprocated even if some days it doesn't feel that way. Log your procedures early! Take advantage of our sim centers! You can schedule your own practice time for procedures you wanna develop. Reading the department guidelines at our different sites is a good way to navigate road bumps and making sure consultants aren't pulling the wool over your eyes"

Dr. Abia possesses every quality you would want in a doctor, coworker, and friend. His kindness, loyalty, and incredible work ethic know no bounds. Not only is he a rockstar in the ED, but he absolutely shreds on guitar, bass, piano, drums, vocals... you name it, he plays it. Always there to gas you up with positive feedback and make you laugh endlessly with jokes left and right, Dr. Abia is a delight to be around and work with, and we wish him the best of luck in Philly!

How lucky is Dom to have this next PGY4 as his future co-attending? Dr. Shajoti Rahman!

Dr. Rahman will also be joining Dr. Rodriguez at Queens Hospital, and not to be redundant bc it's really true... it's just impossible not to love this girl. She is undeniably the cutest with a heart made of gold and pure sunshine, but do NOT let her size and cuteness fool you. Born and raised in Queens, Dr. Rahman ain't scared of nothing and no one. She is fierce with a level of grit that lets you know who’s in charge and makes her a force to be reckoned with. To know her is to love her, and while we're so sad she'll be leaving us, we are so proud of her and know how lucky her patients are to have her!
