Fun Fact: I was a jazz DJ for 3 years at my undergrad radio station. I speak 3 languages. I am a native New Yorker, and I grew up across the park from Sinai.

Dr. Garcia is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics. She is an Assistant Program Director for the Emergency Medicine Residency at Mount Sinai Hospital where she oversees pediatric education for the emergency medicine residents, and EM education for pediatric residents. Dr. Garcias is also the Director of PALS education for the Department of Emergency Medicine and received a Pediatric Attending of the Year award 2012. Each year this award honors excellence in teaching, awarded by the EM residents. Her academic interest centers on medical education.

Dr. Garcia graduated from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island with a BA in French Literature. She attended Morehouse School of Medicine, and completed her Pediatric residency at the Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Ga. After completing a Fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at the Childrens’ Hospital of Pittsburgh, Dr. Garcia stayed on for 7 years as an attending in their bustling emergency department before joining Mount Sinai Hospital.
