Dr. Sandy Sallustio attained all of her post-graduate degrees (MS, MD/PhD) from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She completed a residency in internal medicine at Bellevue Hospital/NYU Medical Center, followed by an infectious disease fellowship at Bronx Municipal Hospital/Montefiore Medical Center, and ultimately an emergency medicine residency at Elmhurst Hospital Center/Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City.

Dr. Sallustio has since remained at Sinai/Elmhurst, and is currently an attending physician in the emergency department at Elmhurst Hospital hospital and an Assistant Professor at the Icahn School of Medicine. Her primary clinical interests include emerging infectious pathogens, management of critically ill patients. Dr. Sallustio is fluent in both Italian and Spanish.
