Fun Fact: Before deciding to pursue medicine, I always thought I’d work in the animal sciences. As a teenager, I worked at an exotic pet store, a wildlife rehabilitation center, and the Central Park Zoo!

Dr. Emma Simon is a resident physician in Emergency Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She earned her medical degree from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, where she was a David Geffen Medical Scholar and recipient of the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine Medical Student Excellence Award, recognizing outstanding performance and promise in the field of emergency medicine. Her academic interests include trauma-informed care, health services research, and emergency care quality metrics. Dr. Simon has contributed to multiple peer-reviewed publications and led curriculum development efforts to integrate trauma-informed principles into medical education. She holds a B.S. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Yale University, where she graduated cum laude with distinction.
