Dr. Strother is the Director of Clinical Competency for the Icahn School of Medicine. In that role he oversees the medical student curriculum around doctoring skills, simulation, and standardized patients as well as leading a clinical coaching program for the students. As Division Director he oversees simulation activities for the Emergency Department both at MSH and in the System ED.
He was one of the founding Directors of the Simulation and Medical Education Fellowship at MSH through the Simulation Teaching and Research (STAR) Center. The STAR Center is an ED and Medical School partnership which Dr. Strother designed, launched, and has grown over the past ten years. Dr. Strother has worked with several national groups including as the Chair of the Emergency Medicine Section of the Society for Simulation in Healthcare and the President of the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine’s Simulation Academy.
