Christopher M. Nagata, MBA, MPH is the Vice Chair of Administration and Finance for the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Mount Sinai Health System. In this role, he provides strategic and operational leadership across the department, overseeing financial management, human resources, research administration, compliance, and long-term planning initiatives.
Mr. Nagata joined Mount Sinai from Northwestern Medicine, where he held senior administrative roles including Division Administrator for Gastroenterology and Hepatology and Director of Finance and Administration for the Cardiovascular Institute. In these positions, he led complex clinical and academic operations, supporting large multidisciplinary programs and driving strategic growth and performance improvement.
At Mount Sinai, Mr. Nagata plays a central role in advancing departmental operations across a large, urban academic health system. His work focuses on aligning financial strategy with clinical and research priorities, optimizing operational efficiency, and supporting the continued expansion of emergency medicine services.
Mr. Nagata holds a Bachelor of Science, as well as a Master of Public Health and a Master of Business Administration, all from the University of Arizona.
