Dr. Cherkas is the Associate Director of Emergency Medicine at Elmhurst Hospital Center. He attended Mount Sinai School of Medicine, graduating in 2002 and completed his Emergency Medicine Residency at Rhode Island Hospital/Brown University in 2006. Dr. Cherkas previously served as the associate program director for the EM residency at Mount Sinai/Elmhurst for nearly 7 years. He is a member of the ACEP Clinical Policies Committee and has written multiple peer reviewed publications in the areas of trauma and resuscitation. Current areas of interest include ED operations, critical care and education.
