| Yaphet Getachew is a resident in the Mount Sinai and Elmhurst Hospital Emergency Medicine Residency Program. He attended the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania after working at the Commonwealth Fund, where he contributed to national initiatives focused on healthcare delivery reform and advancing health equity. His experiences in health policy sparked an interest in the intersection of systems level change and patient care, ultimately leading him to pursue a career in emergency medicine. During medical school, he became involved in ultrasound education, health equity research, and initiatives to improve access to care for underserved communities. He looks forward to continuing to explore ways to improve healthcare delivery and expand access to high quality care while developing as an emergency physician. |
