Within one year of graduation Dr. Saul was promoted to Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship Director. July 1, 2014, Dr. Saul was promoted to Emergency Ultrasound Division Director. A dedicated educator, Dr. Saul teaches bedside ultrasound to 2 fellows, 42 residents and many medical students each year. Dr. Saul is proud to state that almost every attending physician in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Mount Sinai St. Luke‘s/Roosevelt is credentialed in at least 2 ultrasound applications; many are credentialed in 6 or 7 applications.

Dr. Saul is the author of over 40 peer reviewed journal publications and an editor on the imaging textbook, “Essential Emergency Imaging” published by Lippincott Williams and Wilkins in 2011. Dr. Saul reviews two academic journals and was given the distinction of “Distinguished Reviewer,” by the Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine this year. Dr. Saul has co-directed the Mount Sinai St. Luke’s Annual Regional Ultrasound Symposium, a live symposium offering 3.5 CME credit hours with approximately 250 attendees for the past 7 years. After the lecture portion of the symposium, a research forum is held, which includes oral presentations, as well as a moderated poster session allowing local ultrasound fellows to showcase their research and obtain feedback from experts in the field. Dr. Saul directs a quarterly city-wide ultrasound grand rounds at Mount Sinai Roosevelt where local ultrasound providers come together to review a topic in a round table discussion format. This affords a wonderful opportunity to collaborate and share ideas between institutions.
