Dr. Gauthier earned his undergraduate degree from the College of Charleston, where he was a member of the NCAA Division I cross country team and a NASA space grant recipient. His commitment to mentorship began during his time at Charleston, where he was selected to serve as a Pre-Health peer mentor. He carried this enthusiasm into his gap year, serving as an academic tutor and career advisor before starting medical school.

At the University of South Carolina – Greenville, he expanded his experience by resuming peer mentoring activities while also participating on the admissions committee. His research centered on the role of medical students in the emergency department, culminating in a presentation of his findings at CORD’s academic assembly. Now, as a resident at Mount Sinai, Dr. Gauthier is eager to build on his previous experiences and cultivate his interests.
