Fun Fact: I did not get my license until I was 19 and because I went to school in cities where you could get around with a car, so I can't really drive.

Dr. Silvestri grew up in Orlando, Florida and was a competitive dancer in high school and college. She completed her Bachelors of Arts in Public Health Studies at Johns Hopkins University, and completed a Masters of Health Sciences in the Department of Mental Health at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health before starting medical school. Her research focused on the effects of stigma on sexual risk behaviors for sexual minority men. 

Dr. Silvestri completed her medical degree at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai where she became deeply involved in operationalizing health equity through research and education initiatives. She is currently an Emergency Medicine resident at The Mount Sinai Hospital. Her interests within Emergency Medicine span across medical education, clinical operations, and research with a focus on utilizing those domains to mitigate disparities for gender, racial/ethnic, sexual, and other minority groups.
