Fun Fact: While in medical school my side job was driving a fire truck.
| My first job in the medical field was working as a nurse aide in college. I then transitioned to volunteering as an emergency medical technician (EMT) and eventually an advanced EMT as well as a firefighter. Following undergraduate I worked in EMS for while volunteering as a firefighter. I then went to graduate school for a human physiology degree at North Carolina State University. Following graduate school I worked full time as a municipal firefighter where I became trained as a hazardous materials technician as well as a multidisciplinary rescue technician and driver/operator. I then enrolled in medical school at the University of North Carolina while continuing to work part time as a firefighter. |
