Trupti Patel, DO, is an Emergency Medicine Resident at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She received her medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Dr. Patel is passionate about health care delivery and outcomes to refugee, immigrant and asylum populations and equity with regard to the health and health care of structurally marginalized populations. Her research has focused on barriers to acute care for refugees, immigrants, and asylum populations – specifically medical mismanagement in immigration detention facilities. She is also interested in DEI initiatives, reproductive healthcare, and global health.

Additionally, she is a member of The Society of Asylum Medicine. She is also involved with the Academy for Diversity and Inclusion in Emergency Medicine (ADIEM) and Academy for Women in Academic Emergency Medicine (AWAEM) within SAEM.
