Evaluate the role for nerve blocks in hip fractures and rib fractures that require transfer to another facility. Were less opioid/pain medications needed? Were pain scores lower?
NIH-funded research study that will test three interventions — redesigning the ED experience, nurse-led telephone-based care, and transitional care delivered by paramedics. Each intervention is designed to reduce future ED visits and hospital admissions and improve quality care and care coordination for patients with dementia who are discharged home from the ED.
