Bonus Pearl of the day:
Why do I go by Tish?
I’m from North Carolina. In the South it’s quite common for individuals to “go by” their middle names. It’s not unusual in grade school for a teacher to start off the first day of class saying “let me know what ya’ll want to be called”. It’s quite a bit of a culture shock for a person from the south to have to explain and explain when they move out of the region.
Other notable Sinai southerners who go by their middle names:
William “Andrew” Pleasant (North Carolina)
John “Michael” Guthrie (Nashville)
Other things Southern People do…
In the summer, we go to pig pickin’s and fish fries
We eat pork rhines, honey buns, and sunflower seeds
We also eat Tripe. We just call them chitterlings.
